I Spy (In a bottle)

I Spy (In a bottle)

We have ‘hidden’ lots of little objects in coloured rice!! I made these for my friends little boys, but our whole family are enjoy playing with them!!
Serena decided to make herself one with purple and blue rice and twice as many objects!!
To colour rice it is SO SIMPLE I couldn’t believe it. All you need is rice, food colouring, plastic bag and rubbing alcohol (or 4 pumps of hand sanitizer)
I used 2 cups of rice per plastic bag
Pour 1 capful of the rubbing alcohol into each bag

Then add a few drops of food colouring

Now simply ‘massage’ the bags until you have an even colour

We spread out our coloured rice on the trampoline to dry. It didn’t take very long at all as the rubbing alcohol helps with the drying process too!!

While the rice was drying we collected heaps of little objects. The smaller the better!!
Then I typed up the list of objects and laminated it

Now the fun part!! We mixed the coloured rice together. (We mixed one with MORE blue rice and one with MORE yellow)

I use this empty dry juice bottle and put some of the objects into the bottom

Then some rice

Keep layering the objects and rice until the bottle is nearly full

Glued the lids on!!

We then tied the object list onto the bottle so it won’t get lost!!

These would be great for long car trips or waiting rooms!!

Jazzed Up Thongs (Flip Flops)

Jazzed Up Thongs (Flip Flops)

Don’t these look just the BEST!! So easy and inexpensive too!!
All you need are some thongs and water bomb balloons
It is SO EASY. You just need to tie the water bomb balloons onto the thongs. We found it easiest by stretching the balloons when tying them
Make sure you ‘bunch’ them close together and alternate the directions of the balloons
Slowly work your way along the straps
Serena found it easier the wear the thong while tying the end sections!!

DONE!!

Captured Night Fairies (in a jar)

Captured Night Fairies (in a jar)

We simply love this idea!! Quick, easy and looks very effective!!

All you need is a big jar, battery operated fairy lights, fairy stickers, glitter, spray adhesive and spray enamel

With this first step we stuck the fairy stickers on the inside of the jar (as we only need their silhouettes)

Now we sprayed the inside of the jar with spray adhesive

Then we quickly poured the glitter in and shook the jar around so the glitter was evenly spread around the inside of the jar

After waiting 30min for the adhesive to dry we then sprayed the inside of the jar with the enamel. (That will help keep the glitter together and not ‘flake’ off)

We patiently waited overnight of it to dry

They even look great just like this!!

Now we very excitedly we put the fairy lights in!!

WOW!!
