Woven Boxes

Woven Boxes

These cute little boxes can be fill with homemade treats or other gifts ideas or you can use them to store your little nick-knacks in.

All you need are strips of stiff paper or cardboard. I cut mine at 1.5cm width each. You can use 2 colours or just one

In the first step I placed 6 strips of cardboard (coloured side face down) on the table

Then I threaded/weaved the next colour through, starting in the middle

Keep weaving until you have your desired size. I weaved 6 strips so that I have a square.

Now bend up the strip/edges on all 4 sides

Glue two strips together.

Do this for a couple of pieces

Thread/weave these longer strips around the standing up edges.

When you get to a corner bend the threading strip to get a sharp fold. When the ends meet trim and glue them together.

Repeat above step until you have the height you like.

Now trim of the top strip so they are even but make sure that you have left enough to fold over and glue.

DONE
