Little Notebooks

 

These are cute colourful little personal notebooks for Serena to write her little secrets in!!

They are very simple to make

You will need some coloured/patterned paper (for the covers) plain paper (for the pages) ruler, glue, pen, scissors or guillotine and sewing machine (no experience is needed)

We made our notebooks 4cm square, so the first step was to measure from the coloured paper two strips 4cm by 8cm

Then used the guillotine to cut them out

Now we put glue to the back of both of the coloured paper, them folded them in half

 

We measured and cut the white paper into 3.5 cm squares

So now we have heaps of pages!!

Serena stacked some of the pages neatly together

Then placed the back cover, making sure that all the seam/binding edges are aliened

Now add the front cover keeping everything aliened

We used a bulldog clip to hold the pages together

Then sew the seam/binding together. We manually turned the sewing machine needle as it was a little too thick for the foot pedal to go through all the pages!!

 

The last step was to tie the cotton ends together so the stitching won’t come undone, then cut it off near the knot and remove the bulldog clip

 

Done

 

You now have a little notebooks!!

 

De­-stress Massage Balls

De­-stress Massage Balls

These are great little de-stress massaging balls!! Cheap and easy to make too!!

All you need are some Orbeez, balloons, an empty soda bottle and some water

The first step is to put some water into the soda bottle

 

Now cut a corner of the Orbeez packet

And pour into the water

Wait patiently overnight for the Orbeez to grow to the full size, then pour out the excess water

Slightly blow up a balloon and twist it a few times

Place the neck of the balloon over the bottles opening

Then tip it over and let the Orbeez tumble into the balloon

Now let out the excess air

And tie it off

Done!!

 

I cannot describe the unusual feeling of squeezing it in your hands, sort off bumpy, slimy and slippery all at once!!
