Cracked Marble Necklaces

Cracked Marble Necklaces

How cute are these!! It is so easy to crack marbles too!!

All you need to do to crack marbles is to place some marbles into an oven tray and heat them in a moderately hot temperature for 15-20minutes, then quickly put them into a bowl of icey water.

The inside of the marbles seem to crack but not the outside!! (I have been doing this for a while now and only once has one whole marble completely broken)

Once the marbles were cracked we turned them into necklaces.

I bought little bead caps and the wire strip with a circle end from our local material/craft shop.

First we bent the wire strips circle end to a 90degree angle. Now we threaded it onto the bead cap and snipped of the other end. With rounded nose pliers I twisted the end into a loop too so it could be threaded onto a necklace and also so it won’t slip through the bead cap.

We bluetac the marbles to the table so they will stay in placed while we Araldited the little bead caps onto them.

Once dry (24 hours later) we attached another little ring onto the marble bead caps loop, then threaded on some necklace cord.

We think that these look fantastic and each necklace would have cost us about $2!!
