Photo Treasure Hunt

Photo Treasure Hunt

This is more of an activity than a craft.

What I did was take photos of a part of an object throughout our house and yard, then printed them out, 6 per page. On the back of each photo I wrote a one word clue eg - outside, Bathroom etc. We had over 20 photos!!

Now I hid the photos in an order for Serena to follow. For example I hid one under the dog bowl that was a photo of Dads thong, so Serena then went to Dads thong to find another photo of the computer etc ending where I hid some lollies (under her pillow) as the end prize!!

The prize was unnecessary as she had so much fun working out and following the clues!!

Slinky Sparkly Slime

Slinky Sparkly Slime

Such an easy thing to make. It's slippery and slimy but doesn't stick to anything!! We love it!! At first I thought that Serena wouldn’t play with it much BUT she hasn’t put it down yet!!

All you need is 1 teaspoon of Borax, ½ cup of white craft glue, 1 ½ cup of warm water and we also used (but not essential) some glitter and food colouring

You will also need 2 mixing bowls and 2 stirrers. We used old paddle pop sticks but spoons will be fine too

In the first mixing bowl mix the 1 teaspoon of Borax with 1 cup of the water until the Borax has dissolved. Now mix in the food colouring and glitter if you are using them

In the second bowl mix the ½ cup of white glue with the remaining ½ cup of water. Stir until it’s all mixed in

Combined the two bowls together and stir. You will find that the mixtures will separate into two bits - one with the slime and the other with a watery mixture. Pour out the watery mixture and you will have the slime left!!

Store in a Ziploc bag

Novelty Christmas Present (Snowman Poop)

Novelty Christmas Gift
(Snowman Poop)

This is a fun novelty cheeky gift to give!!

All you need is some Tic Tacs, ribbon, glue, cardboard, double sided sticky tape and scissors, pencil and ruler

In the first few steps is measuring and ruling!! So - Measure some rectangles 11.5cm by 8.5cm on the cardboard

And cut them out

Now to measure the ‘binding’ of the card. The ‘binding’ should be 1.5cm wide so measure in 5cm from the edge- both sides

To ‘score’ the binding for easy folding use one blade of the scissors and mark/slightly cut along the ‘binding’ line

Then fold along the newly ‘scored’ lines

Using the glue run some along the centre from one side to the other

Place the ribbon over the glue. We used about 35cm of ribbon for each card

While the glue was drying we stuck some double sided sticky tape onto the back side of the Tic Tacs

And then printed out a little saying -

Heard you’ve

Been

Naughty, so

Here’s the scoop –

All you get for

Christmas is

Snowman Poop!!

When the glued on ribbon was dried, we stuck the saying (with double sided tape) onto the inside left hand side of the card

Then the Tic Tacs onto the right hand side

Done!!

Simply fold them shut and tie a little bow

How great are these. I just love them!!

Coloured In Paper Bag Star

Coloured In Paper Bag Stars

This would be a great project/craft for preschools!!

All you need is 7 paper bags per star, colouring in pens (brighter the better!!), glue stick and scissors

Colour all 7 bags (both sides) any which way you want!! Bolder the better.

The hard part already done!!
Now to glue the bags together. Using the glue stick run it across the bottom then down the centre of the paper bag
Place the next bag neatly on top. Make sure that all the openings are facing the same direction
Press down
Glue again in the same pattern, across the bottom and down the centre
Keep layering until all the bags are used
Now cut all the glued together bags at the OPEN end diagonally form the side edge to the top centre
Both sides
You should now have a point

Again use the glue stick across the bottom and down the centre

Put your hands into the end two paper bags and open them around until they meet

Clamp the end bags together for the glue to stick

DONE!!

How good do these look!!
